I've owned my micro-business since 2001, focusing on hand-carving models for my own lines as well as wholesale and custom work. I am increasingly focused on creating sculptural designs around interesting colored gemstones. I also teach wax carving classes and regularly continue my education with master workshops.
When I'm not working, I am either gardening, West African dancing, knitting, or hanging with my 2 kids. I volunteer for my town's library board and also mentoring a teen in an alternative educational program. When I have free time outside these pursuits (which means almost never), I have a strong multi-skill creative drive including welding and marble carving. Someday I'd like to carve my own sculptural grave marker, and also make cool outdoor furniture mixing stone and metal. But for now I mostly channel my creative drive into jewelry so I can actually get something accomplished.
